Im on 56k and hl2DM would take about 425 min (or about 8 hours).

Any way to get it to work in hl2?

Nope. I would say stick with version 7 or spend the time downloading DM. You have until v8a when all the new maps and a few new tools are released. At the moment it is more v7b on DM.

Aw shit, well I guess I need to stock up on MD and stay up to download DM on fryday.
