Here's the kicker...the game looks freaking unreal. The "screenshots" that have been released thus far are absolutely ridiculous. The one of the parked gray truck simply cannot be in-game. It's just that good. Most people who see these images don't believe they are real, but some of the media were labeled as screenshots, so we have to take Steel Monkeys' word for it. If the next-generation of consoles and PC graphics cards truly are as powerful as they're being made out to be, then visuals like these should certainly be possible.
I hope the Next-Generation games look this good, imagine playing GTA with that amount of realism.

IMO they look too much like plastic, very unreal and you can notice that its rendered in an instant. texture work looks bare and fuzzy in some places, the gloss on the cars are overdone, and i sure do hope that those character models are placeholders...

I think we are going a little too far into the uncanny valley, things like the UE3 look way better than these...

The look good, but not that impressive at all. What the unreal 3 engine could do was much, much more impressive. That looks like something that could be done with the best PC's today with 3dmark, infact the existing 05 mark is more impressive.
The UE3 has better character models, but doesn't overall look as good IMO.

its a pc game actually now that i've looked it up( i think they're the pc screens but they're in both the ps3 and xbox 360 section too) :o , but its coming out on ps3 and xbox 360(such a bad name) aswell, looks pretty good imo.

the cars look good. everything else looks good but really unrealistic to real life, like the concrete the guys standing on isnt shiny its grubby and rough. and where the car is the ground isnt shiny i bet. and also the guy's clothes are a bit shiny and cartoon looking, maybe making them look a little more of a rough surface will help the realism abit.

The graphics look nearly as good as CG movies today, but not really realistic in my opinion. I prefer game visuals to be like art, rather than looking as "true to life" as possible. It's easy to tell the difference between them and reality, but perhaps not them and pre-rendered images.

Hmmmmm, yet again I will proberly not be the first to say this. But pritty much all the media for ps3 and xbox 360 are promo pictures. A promo picture normally is like an advertisment. Much like the cover of a games magazine. Nearly all the media everyone is looking at is pre-rendered. These renders take at least 10minutes for 1 frame. Its impossible for any hardware to process any of the current media in real time.

Yes but you must remember, what they were rendering never showed a massive amount of guys on at once, nor to much action.

I found a neat little saying..

Seems to me the game has beautiful vehicles, but thats the only thing the impreses me. The environments and characters look alot better on U3. Also if U3 were to do vehicles, Im sure it could do the same or better.
