im looking to pick up a ps2 game tomorrow, preferably used as im broke, games i like are 3rd person action/adventures(all kinds, survival, stealth, story based, anything tbh), fps(no real market on ps2, pc has it covered).
i havent bought a ps2 game since mgs3 and before that i hadnt got 1 for about a year.
im thinking about maybe getting 1 from the following:
dmc3(havent played the others, will i be lost)
jak 3(/\/\)
god of war(if i can find it used, is it out in europe?)
thats all i can think of at the moment
games i own on pc that are on ps2:
Brothers in arms
Prince of persia:ww
Pro evolution soccer 4
max payne 2
splinter cell games.
games on ps2:
mgs2
mgs3
pop
hitman 2
gran turismo 3 and expansion
silent hill 3
gta3 and vc
others not worth mentioning really.

Ratchet and Clank 2 and 3.
Crap blowing up and hilarious gameplay. You'll have a blast.

The Ratchet games aren't really all that open-ended, but it really doesn't matter. They beat the pants off of everything else like them (including Jak which is a good game in its own right).

Never liked DMC, and Jak 2/3 bored the hell out of me. I'd say Red faction if your looking for a cheap game. Its got a good story and its quite fun. Niether is it short, like most FPS.
Either that or try XIII -criminally ignored.
Or for third person adventure fun/horror you could get the thing, i thought that was ace.
I could go on, actually :P

According to many reviewers it has the best visuals a ps 2 game can offer.
The game is mad fun and pure destruction. You have dozens up dozens of airstrikes that you can wreak havoc with. The gameplay and world are very similar to the gta series, very open ended.I am not sure what kind of games your into, so go and rent it out first before you buy it.
I definitely recommend it though.

no it very much sounds like a game i'd like, if the gameplay is open ended thats great, i heard the story is too, like you can ally with different factions n stuff, how many hours you got outa it?

'Siren' wins for the best storyline in a game ever. (IMO)
It's also a survival horror game without as much of the 'find the blue gem' crap and more of the stealthy avoidance/killing of zombies.
It's great fun, but extremely difficult to unlock the full plot (almost impossible without a walkthrough).
Pick it up if you can find it cheap or used, and I think you won't regret it.

Well I don't know if you'd really want Zone of the Enders but Zone of the Enders: The second runner is so much better. It really is an amazingly fun game.

EDIT: Also, the game is made by Hideo Kojima. So if you're a fan of his games you might like it.

DMC 3 is definitely a good game. Too bad there isn't like a 4 person FFA battle type multiplayer for it lol.
