I'd kill to be mentioned in one of Valve's games, even in the context of being a mutilated loser. Seriously.

105) Is a good point, as Grigori was the only notable European. Fanfics have pushed plenty of Germans and Russians etc. into the Cities, but mostly it seems to be US immigrants populating the places...

107) Also gets my backing, but mostly just to stop them trying to pen me in doorways, which happened once or twice (but not half as often as it must've done for others).

And my own point: 108) Letting you retain the super-charged suit and gravitygun, with the twist that they steadily lose power until you leave the Citadel or a particular part of the Citadel. Or something. It'd be the best explanation as to why you lose it, in my personal view...

Yeah I know what you're saying on both accounts, but I was more thinking that HL2 forgot some of the things that made HL1 good. I think Valve wanted to keep 'simple' gameplay to a minimum-- you walk in a room, there's a bullsquid and you shoot it. This kind of gameplay, to me, worked well in HL1 (that kept it fresh and interesting) because

1. it slowed down the pace of the game when needed 2. badguys weren't very challenging, you focused more on the environment and atmosphere (devs themselves can focus on environment instead of combat) 3. finding badguys (mainly aliens and zombies) wandering around added to the atmosphere (especially if they were doing some scripted event) 4. it is a positive way to make the game last longer 5. it covers #161 and #162 on my list-- more time in one place (doesn't have to mean less variety), time can move slower (time of day in each area remains the same, just more time in each area-- I just think that it's important for the player to *feel* like the time is real).

I definitely think HL2's non-stop action pace was fun but it would have been nice to see it mixed with what was established in HL1. Of course this might be unrealistic since it is a huge demand from the developers to pack in so much content. Also, simple gameplay might be getting phased out in favour of more complicated styles (non-linear, stealth, vehicles, squads, etc).

171) More explanation on what Lamda, blue shift, teliportation, and other science stuff in the game, really have to do with the game itself. I can figure out most of what it means but it doesnt really tell you that much. Its like having a game based on airplanes, but you never get to fly an airplane in the game. Get what I mean?

172) Explain a little more about G-man, Combine, etc but without revieling too much. Also, making you want a little more explanation, but not too much.

Think about it, if HL2:AM told about all the secrets and and answered all the questions, then what would be the use of another game? Also, you wouldnt have anything to look forward to really. I find all the mysteries of HL/HL2 really interesting and its fun trying to find out more about them.

If you fight WITH them against Combine in those situations (or maybe kill enough troops that it seems less likely you're againt the resistance) you regain people's trust. If you get to three, or attack a main character, not even Alyx or Barney will trust you: Game over, man.

If people get warned once, then the resistance fighters trust you far less and are less likely to follow your commands. Twice and they're likely to actively attack you in order to defend themselves, although if there are Combine troops around, they'll attack them first. If you fight WITH them against Combine in those situations (or maybe kill enough troops that it seems less likely you're againt the resistance) you regain people's trust. If you get to three, or attack a main character, not even Alyx or Barney will trust you: Game over, man.

It is almost as though I am shooting lego men or something. A shotgun should not blow off someone's leg at the hip. A grenade, maybe. Sniper rifles would be wonderful as the crossbow is a bit shoddy to aim sometimes.

its pretty much diffrent , actually they build a whole new face .. they deleted some extra eyes they changed the mouth deleted some teeth , deformed the body made the body thinner and gave it a very diffrent voice and very diffrent movements. oh and they changed its colour from dark brown to light brown!!

Yes, though as Gearbox did with both Blue Shift and Opposing Force, you occasionally revisit areas in Half-Life for reasons of: 1) Nostalgia, 2) Developer laziness. Whilst I haven't played Decay myself, I know that the second chapter has you fighting through an alien infested Hazard Course.

Other key Half-Life moments glimpsed in Decay are:
a) Delivering the sample for Freeman in the Test Chamber (As I understand it, the "missing" HEV suits in the Anamalous Materials lab belong to the two player characters in Decay)
b) Getting launch codes or something for the Satalite rocket that Gordon later launches. Perhaps a bit of an explanation for why Gordon's job in "On A Rail" only involved the pressing of a big red button.
c) A Token G-Man sighting (TM)

It is worth mentioning that www.************** were said to be working on a version Decay for the PC (They even had Gearbox's approval). Nothing has developed on that front for a while though (Last update was in mid-March: they were 35% done.)

Edit: Do a search for "Half Life Decay Source" to find the site. hl2source has always come up censored here, though I can't tell why.

haha that would be so good. Imagine a whole broken down, head-crabbed zoo! How about a whole elephant covered in poison headcrabs as the boss?

That, plus the gorilla, are possibly the greatest ideas I've ever heard... imagine walking through a delapidated zoo, fog, streaming across, the stumbling out of a doorway, really slowly is this massive elephant, covered in poison headcrabs... that would be terrifying....

Give her one very hard-hitting long range gun to make us run like hell for cover, give her lots of nades, give her superhuman agility and speed, give her the capacity to sneak up to us silently and that classic silenced automatic-firing pistol!

"converted" Combine soldiers, that, for some reason or another, joined the rebels so they can survive too?

combine zombie (is it possible anyway?)

Encounter against a tank (and the combine dropships), when we are on foot and we have/can to blow them up. A bit like HL1. It seriously lacked that in HL2 (but there was enough striders and gunships) since we were always equiped with what we needed to blow up the few tanks we saw in water canal. I would have liked so much to have to deal with a manned combine tank when i was on foot. There was also that time.. on the beach, when we got the dunebuggy we meet some combines on foot fighting antlions... and they didnt used their intact tank that was just right next to them!!

Combine snipers that we can see, and they can move. Not just that boring shoot-a-explosive-in-the-black-window-and-they-dont-run-away snipers.

Combines that dont charge to their doom, but have some sense of self-preservation and understand the simple rule that " when you are dead, you are useless, stay alive and kill THEM!"

I really like the zoo idea, specifically the elephant. You've fought all these zombified animals, it's totally dark except for the moonlight, and there's fog everywhere. Suddenly, out of the darkness comes this horrifying monstrosity- an elephant, red-eyed, caked in mud, blood and god knows what else, absolutely covered in headcrabs. I get the chills thinking about it.


Also, I think that friendly fire should be on, but it should impact the PLOT, rather than the game right now. For instance, as you kill more and more allies, your followers gradually lose respect for you, and start doubting your abilities and skills. Eventually, if you really **** up, they'll overthrow you, instate a new leader, and declare you an enemy. Now you have to fight against EVERYONE!

or something along the lines of that.

That just wouldn't work. I definatley prefer it with freindly fire off.
