Looks like it has the same issue as I had with the first game - not enough splash damage on explosions against infantry! Otherwise lookin sexah :)

That rocket hit the gun right infront of the guy at the end of the video but the guy didn't die.

It looks great, good that they're focusing more on infantry this time so it won't be quite as shoddy as last time (infantry combat seemed a bit iffy to me in BF).

That's why I didn't really like it. If you didn't have a vehicle you weren't having any fun because the maps were so freakin huge. Not only that but if you got a plane and someone else wanted it BAM he kills you while you're taking off. Hopefully they make some smaller maps because not everyone plays 64 vs 64 matches.

I think they have eliminated that problem now with squads and squad leaders. IIRC, the squad leader acts as a sort of mobile spawn point. This also makes it important to guard your squad leader heavily.
I have no idea what they are doing about the vehicles though. I'm sure they've done something.

there's different versions of all the maps for 16, 32, and 64 players iirc
that'll be a really good feature :D

Actually, I got the impression that the splash damage had been nicely fixed. They show tank shells and assorted explosives throwing people up in the air throughout the vid. The only oddity was that last bit with the turret, but the game's not finished yet.

the ragdolls made me laugh, thats about the most entertaining thing, large explosions and potential ragdoll consiquences.

The rocket hit the device the player was using, which was destroyed. The explosion of the device hurt the player. :E It may not be realistic, but Battlefield is mostly about fun, not realism.
EDIT: Did anyone notice when they had a ragdoll with a regular projectile gun, they cut away from the ragdoll. Were they hiding the incomplete ragdoll effects? (In the BFCon video, the bodies flew 12 feet in the air when the guy was merely shot in the head. I think the ragdoll effects are done for explosions, but not with regular bullets. :O)

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's a bit awkward they would leave it out

Looks good, nearly done, seems like they've got all the core stuff done and most of the major things, mostly finishing animations, textures, polishing code now. Stuff like fixing ragdolls that fly too far, balancing, etc.
Hopefully we get a DEMO
