A simple map for fun online play:

Basically 2 bases, rebel and combine, each team spawns at their base. The bases are seperated by water on which is a bridge.

Well, the link works...

Anyway... The map isn't the greatest. I don't really dig the triangle shaped sheets of metal. It doesn't really make sense how there are two forts out in the middle of nowhere... What are they fighting over? How did they get there? What is the problem with those metal mesh textures in the rebel base? Why is the RPG always in the middle of these maps?

Texturing and brushwork are boring. Nothing original. Plain standard. Minimal decals.

The brushwork is very simple on the forts. You're rocks are nice.. Even though I'm not sure if those are premade models or not :rolleyes:

There is hardly any cover out in the open. What is the purpose of going to the other persons base? To get massacred by the opposing team? I don't get it.

It looks like it will just end up like a sniper fest. You need to give people a reason to go to the other base. Right now there is literally no point.

i was thinking about sending this over to the HL2 CTF place and letting them add it as a simple CTF map, think i got a shot?

Thats a good idea, reminds me of a smaller version of 'facing worlds' in unreal tournament CTF mode. I think you would have a good shot, go for it.

Without the mapped forts, that terrain would rock as a source forts map! I would like to see a source forts map like the one in the loading screen

We'd like to put that in the game, but the file is like 8mg, and we can't get ahold of the vmf as the mapper disappeared... we would like to keep the dl file small for now.

I'm working on one similar, though.
