I've been thinking about the original Command and Conquer. I loved that game so much, and I want to play it again. Does anybody know where I can download it for free? The underdogs don't have it.
And no, I can't use my old copy. My friend messed up my copy by putting the CD in his floppy drive years ago. What a dumbass.

You can easily find it online. It is indeed abandonware. Just because the underdogs dont have it, doesnt mean that google doesnt. As for playing it on windows xp, thats another story. And dont think about playing it online, and since theres no skirmish mode I dont like it so much.

Yeah, it was an old 9 inch floppy drive. This was a very long time ago.
We were stupid kids then, but at least I knew that a CD wouldn't work in a floppy drive. I still don't know what he was thinking, and he won't talk to me about it.
Thanks, gh0st, ill try abandonware.
Try picking up the Windows 95 re-release. Features slightly better graphics and a few new units, and will work on Windows XP (though you may have to play in compatability mode). You might have to search around in stores for it, though. Don't expect to pay more than a few dollars for it if you can find it.
As for the original one, you'll likely need a DOS emulator to get it working. I can't really help you there, unfortunately.
And that reminds me...I need to download it too. I have the original, though my GDI disk got ruined. Excellent game. :)

Best Game Ever :D
It was the first game I really played properly on the computer.
I think I have both discs intact actually. i palyed it a while back, and the maps are so small. The units are so pixalated and the cut scenes are so out of date...but stil it kept that same old charm. I used to build tiberium farms with sandbags, since nobody could drive over them in the original. They wouldn't shoot them either, and you could even build buildings off them. Man its bringing back so many memories ;( I remember Red Alert first coming out, and my excitement...Ahhh, so much to think about :)

I have only played it on the PlayStation :D In fact, I even bought RA1 for the PlayStation too. An excellent series of games. It's shame it's practically dead now.
