I thought I read somewhere today, that there may be a big announcement released tonight around midnight est ?
Can any one confirm this ?

Or maybe Valve will be nice to Halo-PC, and allow them 1 week to sell thier game, and release HalfLife2 on Oct 7th :)
But i hope not, because i plan on buying both

i also recall reading something about vivendi having a press release sometime tonight(no idea what time zone it was) about HL2. i just pray that i dont log onto the forums tonight and read, in big bold letters "Half-Life 2 DELAYED".

There was a VU Games press release today.

"THE LORD OF THE RINGS™: WAR OF THE RING™ DEMO COMING SOON"

Vivendi have never written a press release for Half-Life 2 before, I doubt they would start now.

I hope some statement of some kind is made soon, unless some super experimental hyper presses are used now for Gold releases. They have to go gold tomorrow to have a chance to make the sept. 30 deadline.

Uh... unless Valve is planning to somehow make Steam able to magically transmit 9800XT cards from a warehouse to your computer, I'd say that any retail bundle is probably going to involve Vivendi, at least to the extent that it will compete with their own retail box.

Yeah, but what I mean is that it wasn't Vivendi who made the deal, they are merely supplying the games.

But perhaps ATi will just press their own CDs, maybe with their own version.

If there is an announcement soon, I bet it will be about CS:CZ. On ShugaShack, they had released a CS:CZ gameplay video, but then it turned out that it was a mistake, and it had to be hidden again for a few days. So maybe it was meant to be timed with an announcement about the game.

The guy who said that Vivendi was going to give a press release apparently got his information from Vivendi Denmark. And he said "Last night" so obviously his information was wrong.

If you look though all these forums you can see people saying "You can expect an official delay statement tomorrow".

Even Fragmaster is saying it now.

Ha, I actually mean the "There should be an official announcement about the delay soon".

I think Valve is going to have to make an announcement on HL2's delay very soon, hopefully by the end of this week. Oh no!

In one of Halflife2.net's news posts some guy was adamant that there was going to be a delay announced. That was at the end of August.

I feel something's coming. And CD burning/pressing technology is very good nowadays, so that wouldn't be a problem (and which company wouldn't deny them either!)

As for Gold date, it could've happened last week. Are game companies REQUIRED to release Gold date? (real question, no sarcasm).

As to the statement, my guess was Vivendi and Valve never intended to make any announcement today....I hope it's tomorrow or as soon as possible, though.

It was by "Some guy" in "Some Thread".

EDIT: It was just someone on this forum who said that he'd just got off the phone from Vivendi Denmark and there was going to be a press release about Half-Life 2 but he wasn't allowed to say what it was.
