Stuck At the Lighthouse.

Just got this game. I love it. :p I'm at the lighthouse, I know I have to find the secret passage to the cliffs below. I can't seem to find the damn thing. I've been trying to jump off of the edge to the cliffs below but, no luck. As I fall I can see a cave below the lighthouse but, I can't find it. Could someone help?

Go inside the lighthouse, at the lowest floor, there is an entrance.

A medic should call you down there(where bliink said) after you take the gunship down, and open the door from 'nowhere' :)

Man that enterance must be invisible cause I looked everywhere on the bottom floor of that lighthouse.

yeah when i said 'nowhere' litterally it is like invisable before he opens it, it suprised me first time n all. Theres a little control panel on one of the wooden supports which the medic fiddles with to open the door, so if hes not there, you may need to reload from your last save so he opens it for you! Good Luck, nova prospekt ahead! :E

The medic is there,but he wont go down to the bottom level. I might have to reload the level so he'll help me out. Thanks,

I had a script error like this during my first game of HL2 also ... really annoying because it wastes hours of time for no aparent reason.

Ah well. Hope you get it sorted.

I had one where Barney decided not to open a door for me as well. And dont everyone say its because I have a pirate copy, I do not.

So what did you do to solve the problem?

As Hectic Glenn said - I loaded an older save.

The reason the script messed up for me was because I was not following the story, I was trying to go where I wanted and do my own thing. I messed about too long, and then by the time I went to follow on with the story, all the scripting had stopped. Loading an older save (before the scene with the scripting) and then working through it properly sorted the problem.

thanks all, I had to restart the game from the previous level. No prob. That medic FINALLY let me through. One quick question though.

Is this game stored on my harddrive or is it stored on Steam's servers? I mean the game came with 5 discs so I'm sure it's at least partially stored on my harddrive. HMMMM.

It's on your harddrive. Otherwise the Steam servers would have to be hellova big!

Yeah, I've had weird scripting errors too, but only after using noclip ;)

This happened to me the second time I went through the game:

I was in the top of the lighthouse and had just killed the airship when the medic came. The medic walked down the stairs just before me when he suddenly fell and didn't get up anymore. I think he fell over a medpack and than broke his neck. It was very funny to see.
Unfortunately it didn't happen again after I reloaded it.
