Good riddance.
Deus Ex was a great game.
After that, They shot themselves in the foot by working on the consoles.
It's like they weren't even trying anymore.
Again, Good riddance.

I assume you're talking about Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2.
Those were both solid PC games IMHO. They didn't just give up on the PC and move to consoles. Both of those titles were being developed at roughly the same time. They couldn't just say "Oh snap, DX2 wasn't that amazing, so let's completely redesign Thief 3!". These things reach a point where you just have to ride them out.
I don't how you can just say "good riddance" to them. They made a grand total of 3 games. God knows what could have come after DX2 and Thief 3. And I'd really like to know why you think developers working on console games deserve to go out of business.
I just wonder what this means will happen to DX3.

Deus Ex 2 was horribly inbalanced and unoptimised, but otherwise they were a solid dev. team. :(

:( Oh well, shame, i guess.
I really enjoyed both Thief 3 and Deus ex 2, despite them both falling short of my epectations.

Both games nearly bring my PC to a standstill, compared to Valve and id, They had horrible game engine. Deus Ex 2 is a great game, can't wait to get a PC that can play it.
Thief 3, i sold it, I don't think I like stealth games anymore. I loved stealing everything in Morrowind I really got a rush, but camping in a shadow for long periods of time (Thief-Deadly Shadows) is not exciting IMO
I agree that they could have had more ways to reduce the quality in order to get the game to run better.
I can run half-life2 really well, so I say ...They had horrible game engines.
Wont be missed

That'l be because, theyre quite different in terms of gameplay
:upstare:
I'm actually happy that talent will scatter instead of being held down by the constraints that made there recent titles... less then exemplary

Dues Ex 2 weren;t that bad, the combat sucked ass but the plots and concept was spot on just like part 1

I've played through Deus Ex 2 twice, and I can say that it was just as good as DE1. It seems trendy to like DE1 more. DE1 was a good game, but very overrated.
Thief 3 and DE2 would have been even better if they had been developed specifically for the PC.

The only gripe i had with invisible war, was how short it was, how small the enviroments were, how restricted you were, and how little choices you had/had effect.
The rest was great.
Where does this leave us for deus ex 3?

Warren Spector is said to still be supervising at Eidos. :) This could mean that Deus Ex 3 is in the works somewhere, or it isn't. We don't know. :flame:

Unfortauntly. (That we don't know whats going on, that is) I want deus ex 3!!. At least there's still some hope, with him supervising.
I doubt, Snowblind is Deus ex 3. Its been announced that its a sperate game now, with a completley different storyline. It did start out with this intention, but it diverted, looks good mind.

No it isnt just as good, they trashed everything that made Deus Ex 1 so great. Yes it is a good game even though it's a disappointment, but compared to DE1, it's a piece of crap.

Saw it coming a mile off anyway. Ion Storm was "no more" when Spector left, especially as Harvey Smith had also. The thing is about Ion Storm... well, they created one "classic" game, but even that was nearly five years ago. Other than that, we got the long-dead Dallas branch's games (2 Crappy, One Fairly Good) and the PC/X-Box "marmite" games (you love them or you hate them).
I personally think the biggest tragedy is that Ion Storm will never get a chance to atone for Deus Ex: Invisible War. I'm not sure what i'll remember Ion Storm for anymore... that first great game, or the most disappointing sequel ever created?

Spector isn't in a position of employment where he can actually develop games though... he's just a development consultant for Eidos as I understand it.
And just for the record: does anyone else think that the Thief brand caries with it some kind of curse? 2 and 3 both signalled the end (well that's unfair, but they were the last titles published) for two developers notorious for being ambitious.

probably.
i mean for those waiting for HL2 on console definitely won't be getting the same wonderful experience that they would playing on a PC when considering all the sacrifices which need to be made for a console to run this game decently.
