Hey,
This is my first interior scene that ive done. Ive been working on it on and off for the last 3 months. I put it on hold for a while and went back to it last night and redid the lighting. Even though it looks better then before, im still not really pleased with it. As for the modeling, everything in there is modeled by me except the sink and stove which are just place holders until i get to modeling them. Also, as you can see the frig, oven and dishwasher all have a kind of stainless steal material on them, but i dont like the way it looks, im trying to get something like this http://home.att.net/~HarrietandJim/end_pics/oven.jpg . If anyone can help me with that it would be great.

Well, i was going through some home decoration magazine that i found, looking for bedrooms or bathroom or something to model and i saw an ad for home depot that had this kitchen, it was a nice big 2 page ad so i just did it.
Edit: I just looked at my kitchen again, and i actualy really hate the lighting, im rendering a lighter version now.

Very nice, I like it. Maybe a bit dark, but if it's at night, then it would be fine. My grans kitchen sometimes looks like that at night, coz she can't be bothered turning on all the lights
And I agreee, the stainless steel is a bit too distorted

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I fixed the lighting, made it much lighter. Im much happy with this, but it still needs work.

better, if you want it to really look like a kitchen, try looking at a few :D
The stainless steel is still a bit too grainy though

Thanks. Yea, i still need to add things like a microwave, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, decorations, things like flowers and pictures and so on. Im trying to fix the stainless steel also. Im trying to make it so the reflection is blurry, and isnt zig zaggy, instead have the reflection streching up and down on the appliance instead of left and right.

Go look at some stainless steel. Or if you're too lazy, use Google!

www.3dtotal.com --> isnt that a website you have to PAY to get some textures off it?

something like these?
Difference between them is one is warped a little, since appliances made of materials like this are rarely perfectly flat.

the surface part is. And the warping shows more if you moved around it.
The only problem with the method used if it needs a lot of AA passes or its plagued with artifacts.

A quick n dirty approach would be to render in passes and then blur the reflection pass, maybe adding a slight wave distortion to it aswell.
Or use an environment map of the kitchen and blur that, quickest method (with regards rendertime)

I first thought you modeled the background kitchen! :P Anyhow, cubemaps would be my method of choice if you ask me...

Nice TDE, thats what im trying to get. I found some stainless steel material on a site that i downloaded and its pretty much what i want. I just simply edited it by making it so it reflects the enviorment and distorts the reflection in the way of the sratches.
