Calendar photograph

Okay i'd like a bit of advice here. Theres a competition in my local newspaper to tke pictures of the area to be put in a calendar. Now, i know none of you live near me, but could you just choose one you think is best?

Bearing in mind I know nothing about photography I will give it a shot :D
1) Not bad, could work well
2) Looks ok, nothing seems to be drawing my attention and the fisherman kinda ruins it
3) Action shot :P lots of nice looking grass
4) Probably my least favourite, has a big old tree branch that sortof gets in the way of the bridge in the distance
5) Probably my favourite, no people, nice picture of a bridge, lots of sky but they can crop it easily.

thanks, that helped a lot. i see what you mean about 4. I was trying to get the branch to frame the shot, but i must have messed up my angle and not realised.

Yeah i like #5 its the best kinda reminds me of south georgia where i live nice.

1) Good, but branch is a bit brown and dead-looking
2) Crop the fisherman and woo, excellent shot. Also there's too much tree on the left
3) Ugh! What's with the guy? Nice grass, and that's about it
4) Branch is in the way! Duh! But otherwise that would've been a great shot, if you'd zoomed in a bit more on the bridge, making it more dominant
5) That would be a great shot, if it were only the bridge. The skies fine, but the land on the right gets in the way. You crop the right and a bit of the top and that would be amazing

5>1>2>4>3

(4 is only there because of the branch. You take that shot again and it would be first probably)

yeah, i dont really like three either. It looks a bit dead on the opposite bank, and i should have put it on a different setting so the canoe guy doesnt look so out of place, but there was an angry-looking sheep charging at me, and i wanted to take the photo then run away.

i think its either gonna be 1 or 5. :)

I'd like four the best of it weren't for the branch as well. Although if you did use the branch to frame it, and kind of had it subtley at the top right it would great.
As it is I like five also

Exactly what I think, Crazy Harij.

The first one with the plant is really nice. Everything looks good there.
The fifth one with the reflections on the water, and the bridge, makes it excellent too.

1 and 5 are amazing i really should get me a digital camera just to build up a folder of reference images!

thanks guys. I personally like one better but everyne seems to have voted for 5.
i dunno why, i just think it lookas a bit cluttered with all the trees and stuff on the banks.
but i guess the plant in 1 might be a bit too prominent for a calender picture..

I like 1, but the background seems slightly too blurry. Its good that its out of focus, but its too much.

I voted 1. I would have voted 5 but that house in the background takes away from the bridge. Perhaps a better angle?

also a little mention: if you are taking a picture of view, please dont include someone in the pic lol, the pic with a picture near the river/sea could be great, unfortunately someone was there lol :(

yeah, damned fishermen. Can you beleive it, one of them thought i was taking pictures of him and started giving me angry looks. I was too scared to ask him to move.
