2 and 3 are awesome!!!!!!!! they are all good, though, but those are really cool. Any possibility in getting them 1600x1200?

The HL2 Logo should probably be Anti-Aliased for a cleaner look.

those would be good if they were in 1280*960.
I don't see how people could have their desktop res at 1024*768 anymore.

I Don't know how to do that. Can someone tell me how to do this? I Think I will pump up the resolution and AA on this next batch I am doing. Most were 1280x960 before I resized them to hide jaggies. :/

Okay I maxed out my graphics card! Next batch will be 1280x960, 6x AA, 16x AS. Here is one, minus the logo which I must perfect:

I like your wallpapers (I am using one for now :))
If you have photoshop then select the layer where the HL2 logo is and blur it a bit on the edges.

ATI 9800 256mb only supports up to 1280x1024 or 1280x960. It seems odd because my old Geforce4 Ti4200 supports 1600x1200.

I dont think it's about the video card as a matter of resolution. I uses ATI X800 and I can go widescreen on my 1024 monitor. :P It turned out to be crap :D

play it in a window with a really high res, and use f5 to take a screenshot... they get really big

HA!
It might be good for games, but absolutely terrible for reading, which is what "most people" do on their PCs. That's why they have it set at that res.
When using that high resolution, try and read websites and stuff that has size 8px fonts, without needing glasses. Especially on a 17" monitor, which is the usual these days.
About the wallpapers, they are great shots, too bad the logo is all janky fubar.
Do a google image search for "half-life 2 logo" (http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-32,GGLD:en&q=half%2Dlife+2+logo). Find a huge one. Copy/Paste it into Photoshop and re-size it to fit well. When you re-size it, it will AA the logo, as long as your image is in RGB mode.

You're only using 1280*960? I just set mine to 6400*4800 - You should bump yours up a bit perhaps :P
Anyway I love the alive-combine pics - They were all cool!
Get them anti-alised and I'll use 'em over even my HHGTTG Wallpaper!

Or, in Photoshop, just type in the "@" sign, using the Half-Life2 font. Make it a huge font, like size 600.
The half-life2 font comes with half-life2, and is in the Windows > Fonts folder.

ATI 9800 256mb only supports up to 1280x1024
No way. I've got an ATI 9600 256mb and I can go up to 2048x1536, but I'm on a 21" monitor. It probably is your monitor...
So, make some 1600x1200 wallpapers of the shooting combine (as seen from below) and people with wimpy resolutions can scale them down if they want.
"You're only using 1280*960? I just set mine to 6400*4800 - You should bump yours up a bit perhaps "
No ****in; way?! Seriously?! There's not a monitor or video card on this earth that can handle that?! Please tell me you jest?!

I have a 17inch (Viewable) Viewsonic Perfect Flat A70f. This appears to be the problem. It is 3 years old so I guess It doesnt support that resolution, either that or my graphics driver is out of date, because back when I hade a Mx440 and a Ti4200, I use to have 1600x1200 settings.

I took these caps to show off the game's visual prowess. It is amazing to me how far games have come. I remember when I was playing games like Zool on my Amiga 500+, and the Super Nintendo came and blew me away. Now we have this. All shots are highest settings, a.ax6, a.fx16.

One of them is still 1024x768, although the rest are 1280x960.
I am working on some slowmotion explosion shots, very interesting with these ragdoll effects. Will get those posted later.
Loving this thread. Keep up the great work.
