Looks neat, too bad I would have to spend a ridiculous amount of time to be any good at it (visa vie, CS).
Very nice videos. There could have been a bit more action in the footage (especially the second video), but overall they're quite revealing. Looks to be a nice upgrade to the series, no question about it.

Battlefield 1942, in my opinion, was perfect. I'm not really looking foward for Bf2. I hated Bf Vietnam, because vehicules were too fast and too powerfull and the game got boring. I think that Bf 2 will look like Vietnam with better graphics.

BF Vietnam was made by a different DICE division than BF42
BF2 is made by the same people at BF42. So here's hoping it's not another BFV

Well if you think about it vehicles should be powerful.. you dont expect to take out a tank with 3 grenades do you?

Hmm, my codecs can't play the video but only the audio. Anyone have a link to the newest ones? Microsoft, Quicktime, or any other sites I try can find updates on their own respective sites
Edit: nevermind got it to work.
Awesome video, still has work to be done (Chopper needs blades to spin! hehe) but it has come a long way.
Hearing the BF1942 theme on arab instruments is interesting

BF2 is my most awaited game of 2005. Just a couple of months and it's here. Can't wait!

Hmm, I'm slightly suspicious of that first video since it makes the game look 10 times better than the last released game play footage a few weeks ago.

Well you know that will never happen in a game of Battlefield.
The videos a couple weeks ago were probably real players playing it, as they would. Like you'd see on any old public server. Only that was with the stuff still being developed.
The ones now are still in developement, but when are you going to see a huge coordination that two choppers chase and continually miss a single easily killable boat all the way down a river and get owned by an AA truck, and never even get the boat by the end.
The Cobra would've unloaded it's entire barrage at that boat, flown away and landed on a flag, then flipped over and crashed in any server. Hehe.

Read the recent interviews about BF2 also, they have introduced a very nice system so team play becomes much more of a requirement then something you could do if you want to.
and also those videos were incredible.

Exactly. If I thought that this game would be a clone of BF1942 or BF:V but with modern weapons and such I wouldn't even bother. DICE has taken some very awsome (and I'll admit risky) steps with BF2 and I think it will defiantly pay off in a completely new game.
The videos however do look awsome, even if that probably will never happen in game.

Yo Alan Freeman, of course BF2 will run on your computer. But you knew that before you even made that sig.
I love it when people give out some awesome specs for their rig and then ask whether a game will run.
Ya braggart!

Downloading right now. I loved the first one but didn't really care for Vietnam. This one looks very cool from what I've seen. :)

I wonder if I could run it on full settings with my computer. Do you think an Athlon 64 FX with a X800 XT PE and 1GB RAM could run it on full settings? Because it gets a little shakey on HL2 sometimes, but I think that is the skipping bug that they haven't fixed.
Far Cry runs at 40-60 FPS on full settings with max AA and AF, so BF2 probably would be sorta kinda the same right?
I'm not trying to brag, I'm serious.

Downloading both now, I'll let download overnight and check them in the morning :)
Oorgle I've tried to restrain myself from not getting caught up in the game and such so I won't be disappointed with it, if I don't like it (so I can say I never had high hopes) but shit the last few interviews, videos, pics is just OORGLE I can't stand it, I want this game, now....
*edit* meh 20 mins remains on that small 60 meg video, so I'll stay up for that :afro: Until then, off to find some good BF fan sites!

Whoa in the interview one, mid way a tank goes up a hill full speed, and it's front end goes flying in the air like real tanks (where it only is on it's back treads)
THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!
Wow I love this game now.... lol
*edit* Here are the system requirements to play the game at MINIMUM
Target Minimum Specification Machine:
1.5 Ghz CPU
512 Megabytes of RAM
128 MB video card (must support 1.4 shaders)
Cheers (so glad I got a new comp)

Hell no. That goes against the entire vein of the BF franchise.
Its not Massively Multiplayer, but its free. :D
