View Full Version : Seeking A Mature Group

Greetings,

I've come to these message boards to advert your attention to my contingent interest in taking part of a mature gaming group for Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, as well as *Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. Of course, if your group does not participate in all but one of these games, that is rather fine (and as I write this, Day of Defeat: Source has not yet been released).

I'm going to have to say I've never had an interest of any sort in joining any sort of group until I've determined that to play these games, you must have teamwork and cooperation to execute the objective at hand. That said, I am only looking for a group that is adequately aggressive in creating strategies and having practices constantly to see how well the ideas would perform on the battlefield.

I am more or less of a sniper, regardless if it is using an actual sniper rifle, I pertain to conceal myself and shoot the enemy from a rather far distance unless the map is close quarters, where-areas I usually take what is at hand and try and strategically perform the objective, whilst being a freelancer as it usually happens that the team I am currently on does not want to use any sort of tactics (which really is a turn-off if your group does not plan before you execute).

I am not interested in any sort of immature, strategically handicapped, organized group. By all means, I am not saying I wish to not have a good time, but in my mind, strategy is a good way to get a say in what is happening, and I see that as fun. I am looking for a competitive, yet friendly group who likes to have a good time while beating the opposing force.

I am in it for the fun and possible relationship with a few (usually 20 or less) teammates and become good friends. As for my personal agenda, I am currently fourteen years of age (quite young, but I can hold my own when it comes to maturity), reside in the Fort Worth, Texas (USA) area, and I currently attend middle school in the eighth grade.

I understand there usually isn't an adequate amount of clans that aren't willing to accept a member of my age into their group, as it usually causes troubles and large amount of disputing to occur, but I wish that you give a fellow gamer a chance. I've also noticed that 75% of the actual gaming groups have an age limit... which rather disappoints me as these are the ones that are mature and willing to use strategy in the game, but I am hoping there is a clan that makes exceptions.

I hope to see a few replies regarding my interest in joining a clan. You can contact me via E-Mail and MSN at HeatoN0451@Hotmail.com.

Regards,
HeatoN

* Note: I understand Half-Life 2: Deathmatch isn't a strategic game... but I find it a hella' lot of fun.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by stating that. What are you trying to infer?

Heaton, the legendary sK CS player..
sK Being the swedish clan with the best record in competitive gaming, and one of the larget multi - gaming clans.

Afraid not. Heaton is merely a last name in my family tree... not mine currently, but I have family origins that relate to the name Heaton, specifically Irish.

You could apply at our "Clan starting up" thread. Since you live in america, you owuld be run by Daegon, the American team captain. But then again, I don't run the American team, so it should be up to Daegon to do that.
Anyway, there's no age limit on the group, and he has open tryouts on the official Halflife2.net servers, until we can get our own off Munro.

Thanks for the offer Dekstar, but I am more interested in a select few, not a large organization, regardless if it is formed up into squads and whatnot.

So you're a very good player then? In which case, wouldn't it be easier to start your own clan, than trying to seek the holy grail that is the perfect one?

That isn't a consideration at the moment. Being only fourteen years of age, it would be rather difficult in obtaining funds to provide for such things as a website and gaming server. As for being a very good player, that's a rather large overstatement. I see myself being quite good, but I am not the best as I have faults in the way I perform. On a side note, I am not trying to seek the perfect clan, more or less a mature organization in all good conscience... which is difficult but not impossible.

i don't see the problem with being part of a clan that has 24 members if the team i am part of is only a group of 8(as part of the US team you wouldn't be doing much playing with us europeans, so effectively your part of a clan of 8). theoretically it should mean that there are more people to come up with strategies and to test them.

you seem to realise that your age excludes you from joining some clans, don't let the fact that we are the clan of a large website restrict you from joining a clan such as us.

that said, it is your decision, and i hope you find a clan you can play well with :)

I went to their site and I only saw about 30 actual clan members?

I guess their community is pretty big though.
