I found a Boogie Board!!!

In Sandtraps, when I was tossing stuff down on the sand to walk on, I found something pretty cool... Sorry if it's old news...

I was using the wooden door and the piece of sheet metal to alternate between. I was standing on the door, and the sheet metal got lodged underneath it. I locked on to the sheet metal with the gravity gun (while it was partially under the door) and walked backward at the same time. The sheet metal pushed the door along with me on top and I sailed across the sand like a boogie board! Pretty cool. Wind surfing across the antlion field.

Any screens of that, Naz? I'd love to see the part of sandtraps where I can find the boogieboard. Is it in the part where you have to cross the sand without disturbing the Antlions?

Yep, that's what I was doing when I accidentelly stumbled onto this deal. Then I wasted about 3 hours messing around with it and recording demos of it etc. (you know what they say about simple minds :^)

Anyway, it's pretty cool. It just pulls you across the sand and you can even steer a little (too much will flip yer surfboard apart and put out an APB to the antlions!).

I made a pretty good demo, but it's probably too big to post.

thats the whole point of that part of the level. What Naz is talking about is using a door and a metal sheet as a "skateboard" to slide across the sand.

However i dont understand what i gotta do to get it working (mind me, i havent tried, but i naz's explanations aren't too clear, to me anyways)

I know :rolleyes:. You could of ran over the sand and lead the antlions to the combine you have to fight or have a big standoff.

Looks cool, Naz, thanks for the screensots. I like the way the physics engine and objects can be used in all kinds of ways in this game, very cool indeed
