Hows about it? I'm getting 200-300 for servers within Australia...

Any Aussie HL2.net members running a sever and don't mind a bit of lag? I'm on 56k, but I'd really like to try HL2Dm out... I loved HLDM...

Anyone?

I used to play TFC against LPB's with a 300 to 700 ping. Are people going to kick you off their servers if you have a high ping?

A ping of 200-300 sounds about right. Atleast thats what I was getting on one of the CSS internode servers.

Yes, just hop on a server and play. Even if your ping is high you'll learn how to compensate for it. I used to dominate The Rock 24/7 server on my 56K modem. I loved seeing my name up at the top of the scoreboard with my 500 ping while everyone else was 120 or lower. Good luck finding a server. I'm sure there'll be plenty where you can play that aren't run by snobs.

Well it finnaly connected. Ready to play in 31 minutes.

I was just playing against some dudes on a Victorian server... awesome, even with the lag...

I ended up 3rd out of about eight people. You do learn to compensate for the lag, it's true...

Difficult to hit people with physics objects, though...

EDIT: I could fire up a server, won't be dedicated however, but still ,cables got more than enough upstream bandwidth to ensure low ping. Hmm....anyone else wanna play? if i get a few requests i might throw on a server.

the friends system is just like msn, you add ppl by username, and u can chat when they're logged onto steam. Id say your best bet is to use msn to get it sorted. PM me and ill send u my email ok.
