i know im not the first to realize this--but i just realized the ties between the end of half life and the beginning of half life 2! the teleporter that you step into in the end of half life 1 is a "slow" teleporter just like the one you and alyx get stuck in in half life 2! and methinks g-man can determine how long the teleporter takes so he can use you to the best of your ability! thats why he said "wake up" and thats why the passenger says "i didnt see you get on." oh it makes sense now.
sorry if this is stupid and im a noob. i just figured this out.

This is stupid and you are a noob.
Lol, I have never called anyone a "noob" in my life but there we go... They're just games really, no bigger meaning to them. That thing isn't a teleporter, I think it's all supposed to be taken a bit less literally.

Same here, makes kinda sense.
The Gman does put a whole lot of emphasis on time travel. Apparently he can manipulate the time/place of your exit as well.

You didnt figure anything out, the teleporter you and Alyx use is a "Fast" teleporter, that is the whole ****ing point of the game.

Good theory, but I dont't think it's true.
At the end of HL1 G-Man says "As for the suit, I think you've earned it". And Gordon doesn't start HL2 with the suit.

It is not true for a simple reason: If Gordon was teleported from HL1 to HL2 in an instant (from the prespective of Gordon), then the GMan wouldn't have said "wake up" and "rise and shine" because he realizes that from Gordon's prespective, no time has passed.

Could you please explain what you meant by that?

I think the commonly accepted theory is that Gordon was put in stasis or cryogenic sleep between episodes... preserve his youth and all.

Slow teleport is what Gman uses to preserve you while simotaneously transporting you to a new place. This is the "slow" teleport technology, its not feasible as a means of reliable transportation.
Fast teleport is the technology that Mossman/Kleiner/Eli and the rest of the Black Mesa team were working on, it's just that, instant teleportation, it doesnt work quite right when you teleport from the prison to Kleiners lab, thats why it only takes a week for you to get there.
