Reinstalled Steam but don't want to re-DL HL2

My power went out while steam was updating and a file got corrupted. I reinstalled steam off the CD and ran the update but now it wants to DL HL2 and CS: S before it will let me play them. Is there a way to re-associate steam with the files that are already there? Or do I have to either reinstall all 5 CD's or let it DL 898 megs for HL2?

I was able to reinstall steam when I switched hard drives. I installed steam, and then copied over the files from the backed up steam directory on the old hard drive. After coping Steam\SteamApps\*.gcf and Steam\SteamApps\email@blah.com I was able to restart steam and it used the existing cache files.

Though I don't know how this helps if your cache files are corrupt. But it might save you a couple of megs of download?
