Hi, I rendered this one with 3dsmax 4.2 and Brazil. About an hour of work, no photoshop editting (yet).
I still like to think of it as WIP, not a final render.

Nice, the only thing I could constructively criticise is at the top right point of the HL2 logo.
The 2 needs the top most point rounding, much like the round 2 used here, rather than the straight topped version you have now.
The curve of the emblem that is to the right of the 2 needs more polys in that area, it's a promenant feature of the emblem and so more detail needs to exist there.
Excellent work otherwise. :)

Yeah I'm trying to make it as smooth as possible, but the problem is my wire is een real mess up there (boolean powerrrrr.....) and smoothing could give a lot of poly errors. But I'm working on it, thanks for the crits :)

Well, I took the liberty to render the blue one fullsize and edit it with Photoshop (just text :P)

3dsmax 4.2, and I used the renderplugin Brazil for the rendering, photon maps and the materials.

Here's a different render using different materials. Same scene and objects though.
Rendering time was ridiculous with 7 hours, because of a mistake I made in the settings :x

Can you render that dirty one with a different color for the logo? maybe brown, red, or a black? The blue doesn't really fit the scene :p. Good job though!

Those Boolean errors are quite common. If I were you, I would rebuild the whole shape with splines (including the 2), so that when you extrude it, you extrude that entire shape and you wont need boolean.

Yeah I was being quite dumb there, I did build the whole shape out of splines, but I could have just added the splines for that 2 to the shape of the main logo.
The HSDS modifier is pretty cool too, makes the entire shape into tri's again.
BTW: here (http://members.lycos.nl/dayofvictory/render_complete copy.jpg) is the 1600x1200 version :)
