Game crashes....

Just installed the game, started to play.... got to where i jump down into an alley way from a window landing on a box...... go through door, game starts to load next part, then exits to desktop with a window saying:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library \hl2.exe Abnormal Program Termination Ok"


What's wrong?

Hmm, I haven't heard of an error that actually has an ms visual c++ message in it.

Try going back to the nearest save point and trying it again.

verry strange,

maybe you can try to reinstall your game?, or just upgrade your video drivers but i think its more a memory error,

I managed to get past the part I mentioned earlier after 4 attempts, but the game crashes elsewhere too.... but only when it starts to load the next level/part... with the same error message....

Obviously a graphics/card/driver/engine problem. Try reducing the graphics details a bit perhaps?

I crash in exactly the same place (loading at the door), but with a "memory can't be read error". Every single time. Running on default settings. Also getting weird rendering errors: transparent walls, etc.
