Flashlight Not Working

The flashlight doesn't seem to work for me. The auxilary power bar comes up along with 'flashlight' text, but the actual light doesn't turn on. I've tried mapping it to different keys. Anyone have an idea?

half life 2 comes with a gay detector which disables the flashlight for gays.

I'm in DX9...and its still not working. I kind of need it to navigate dark areas. Can anyone help?

I figured out the problem! You have to have shadows on. I turned shadows off in console by typing in r_shadows 0, but what that does is not allow flashlight light as well! So, make sure you don't turn off shadows completely and the flashlight should work.

Hey I was having the same problem.. but when I type in "r_shadows 1" it fixed it.. great job!
