I feel dumb.. help plz

Stuck in East Black Mesa, have just finished the watar hazard level. When I arrive, 2 ppl in labcoats scan me and let me into the facility. After that, the Dr Judith Mossman tells me to go down and see Eliah.. but the elevator doesn't seem to want to work. The other areas of the facility are gated off and no matter by stacking boxes, or trying to blow anything up can I find an alternate route. Seems like a very stupid place to be stuck.. can anybody shine a light on this.. maybe I was supposed to do something earlier in the game.. IDK.. would appreciate some help. Thx

weird.. she's been sitting there telling me to hurry up and crap and just stays there.. u think a bug mebe?

Yeah she has this long speach all the way to, in and from the elevator.

yea.. I've been following her close and after she opens up the door to the room with the elevator.. she says "this way Dr. Freeman" then just stands there. I think it's some type of game scripting bug that's been driving me nuts.. I think I'll have to back track it through the game again.. oh well.. thx for giving me the authoritive answer tho. :)

Load an earlier save game or restart the chapter.

quicksave and quickload repeatedly F6 and F9.
