Stuck just after getting buggy

Just after you get the buggy how are you supposed to jump the ramp where half the bridge is missing? I have been trying to do it for a couple of hours and I always fall short. I am going full throttle towards the ramp and when I am in the air it looks like I am going to make it and then I take a hard downward turn and the buggy flips, somewhat like I am hitting a wall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The turbo did it. I didn't pay any attention to the box that popped up telling me the controls, I should do that. Heck I was in Ravenholm before I figured out I could use suit zoom.
