correct me if im wrong but i do believe i read somthing about being able to load your own mp3 files to play during hl2? so is neone out ther making a playlister/ already have them done?

You're wrong. :) The capabilities are there, Valve have said, they just don't have it for HL2 out of the box.

uh what?? so is that a 'yes you can do it'? or a 'no you can't do it'? or a 'yes you can do it but you have to go in and edit the files in the hl2 sound folder or something kinda tricky like that ??

Why would you want to do that anyway? Im playing the game default music no skin packs all that crap.

HL2 music will be better than anything else - it's been designed for the game ffs!!!

the 'intense' music in hl1 was pretty wack.. i may keep some of the techno that starts bumpin during the lil buggy on the beach thing but im def loadin up the YESTERDAYS RISING!!

I can;t wait I will mod HL2 to play Celine Dion "My Heart Goes On" when I kill someone.

Then when thee game is over I will make it play "The Hamster Dance" while the credits scroll. It will add a much missing element of stupidity to the Half Life universe.

Blasphemy! The music from the binks is a tiny selection (and as far as I know, nothing that special compared to the rest) from everything else. Don't go and spoil it with you '1337' music.

why listen to other types of music where valve already has selected the musics best suiting the atmosphere?
the game would be crap if you just listen to metallica on the background. what sets the mood mostly is the music.

play the game with real sounds its much better only then you will get the hole game experience. (got my gold stuff today,hl2 gameguide etc , o my god i am so glad when i can play ) :-)

Exactly - just listen to music from the original - http://www.forumbucket.com/hl2countdown.swf - even that kicks ass. HL2 will be better.
