I decided to give digital painting a try and this is what I came up with.

Please bear in mind that I do not have a digital tablet so I had to do this using only the mouse.

very.. trolly.. heh I like it!
Drawn strait out of your head or did you used a lotr fotorefrence for it. anyway.. looks nice! altrough i would make the lines in his face a bit thicker.. so you can see the lines better then the marker colouring

BTW. this should belong in the offtopic orumna ccording to Starmonkey. Bu if we get enough interest in a general art forum on this board here then we will get one. so what do you say!

I think the more you spread the forums out the more you have to manage.

I suggest you should call this forum "General Art forum" and more people will browse it.

I hardly ever browse the offtopics forum and I was tempted to post in the general forum where I would get a comment on my thread in under 10 min.


I did this sketch when I was in grade 8 and I used a refernce pic to help me out.

Now I put it up n photoshop and did my first digital painting.

some bits look digi painted an some bits look like pastel , carbothelos or maybe watercolor very nice work anywho nice job.

Looks good. When I first glanced at it, I thought it was scanned in work.

think the head is abit deformed but good work, even more so if u used a mouse

wow this is good....work some more with it and it could be really good..oh and remove that "made by.." ..doesnt fit in, and kinda removes fro the atmosphere...but work with it, and make an enviroment, and give it more shadows!

LOL, thats how the cave troll head looks like....deformed a little...:)

As for the made by Part, it was there in the origial sketch and is ther to remid people that it's not a photo with a brush filter applied to it in photoshop.

I painted everey stroke on him :)
