DVD or CD?

Sorry I am a n00b lol...

Will HL2 be available in the store as DVD AND CD? or just CD? I pre-ordered my copy at EB games and I was wondering whether or not I have the option available?
How much will the DVD version be? I also heard that it's just available with the collectors edition, can someone clear this up?

In the UK/Europe the regular retail package will be in DVD format. In the USA you will have only CD's. This is unless you go for the Collectors Edition which is DVD format.

But it is released at a later date. A retailer close to me has it at the 10th of dec.

i think the collectors edition comes out the same day. cuase EBGames online showes it coming out the same day.
