I like how this game is getting an average of about 9.6 for reviews and then some people played Halo 2 at a friend of a friends house claim the game is crap.

Gamespy 5/5
Highs:Fantastic, immersive storyline; gorgeous graphics, particularly the detailed textures; amazing audio; the best Xbox Live experience you'll ever have.
Lows: Some minor graphical glitches; co-op mode is limited to split screen.

That is fantastic considering Gamespy gave Halo a 4/5 stars!

Gamespot was saying that the story in the campaign mode will likely make you feel emotionally betrayed.
Argg stupid gamespot watch out everyone there is a big spoiler in this review.
They said the levels are repetitive :( that was what I hated most about halo.

You should check out the Gamespot and IGN message boards. They all feel betrayed because GTA got a higher score. People need to take a step back and realize that more good games is good for all of us.

Cool, this should keep me busy reading for a while. :)
And why are people so furiously antagonised towards Bungie and Halo 2? Just like Narcolepsy said:

It doesn't matter which way you cut, dissect or analyze it, Halo 2 comes up aces in ever way. It's a noble achievement in storytelling, gameplay balance, and multiplayer design. And it's easily the best console-based, online game on Earth. Easily. Like so many people have said thus far: In 2004, Halo 2 will own you.
Sounds good to me.

Ok. :O That's you. But you are saying that the reviews of Half-Life 2 by PC games-only magazines aren't to be trusted by you? That sounds kinda silly.

Then trust gamespy, IGN, and gamespot. They each have their own department, true, but they cross-examine each others opinion so a bias does not occur. Just face it, Halo 2 is gonna be a great game. Will it be better than Half-Life 2? I don't know and I don't care, just enjoy all the goodness that the gaming gods are giving us.

As I, and many others, suspected. It's the perfect excuse to keep people from getting hyped up for a game other than HL2. Their game. No, I'm not a Halo fanboy, I just like to see peoples works all get a fair amount of spotlight and recognition.

Apparantly the Single Player campaign is not without it's faults, but the Multiplayer campaign is meant to be the most interesting thing about Halo 2 (from the emphesis he kept putting on the online component in the GS video review), however one has to wonder, if Halo/Halo 2 had been made for the PC first would it have received nearly as much attention? The online side of Halo 2 is nothing new on a PC platform, however it is the best online game currently available on the X-Box platform.
This is not a dig at Halo 2 , I'm simply stating it's pointless to compare accross platform because people are looking for different things depending on what platform they are playing on. For instance most console game's have very limited physics systems compared to PC games, if someone brought out a PC game with console style physics in todays climate people would surely complain, but they don't mind it when it's on a console.

Am I the only one whose interested in Halo 2 primarily for the single player (and co-op) game.
There hasn't been a single player fps that requires any skill to complete (on any platform) since the original Halo (imo)
The thought of some challenge, that isn't online, in a single player story driven experience, with vehciles, and co-op, has me rather excited :)

Best point of view I've seen so far in all these bashing threads.

That's exactly the reason I'm looking forward so much to Half-Life 2 (sans co-op, of course).

How many decent pc games use an advanced physics system well? or at all? (the reason many are so excited about HL2 is because it promises to be the first game to do so on any system)
In general PC games physics system are no more advanced than console titles. (sure, we get MP2 and Far Cry .... but you get my point, there aren't many. And the ones we do get aren't very impressive) Why would ppl complain? - look how many are playing CS and the moment - they have no problem :)
I think all gamers have high expectations and are looking for the same things in a video game - which is why you'll find many ppl with top of the range pcs still love console gaming.
Halo 2 to me, as a avid PC gamer, is a very exciting proposition - simply because it promises offer a gaming experience I can't get anywhere else (including the pc).

When's the PC port coming out? I hope it'll be a better port than Halo PC was, Halo PC was a poor port. What will the system requirements be?
I'm having trouble viewing the video review for the Xbox.

I just watched it. It looks good, but not as good as people thought it would be.
I believe Greg said that the storyline isn't very good.
And he mentioned a few flaws, not too serious.
Halo got 9.7 last time.

Yeah Greg puts his reviews nice and simple

Depends how much the story means to you.
I play Halo to shoot aliens. Full stop :) and couldn't care if Master Chief falls in love with another male cyborg and spends the rest of eternity cohabiting with his chosen life partner (as long as he gets the time to star in Halo 3 :))

GS: dissapointing story
IGN: Awesome story
I'm thinking it depends on whether you know any better. I hate to say it, but I bet the GS plays more PC games than the IGN one.
