What was good 10 years ago, isn't necessarily good today, it was repetitive and had a bucketload of unfulfilled potential.
It doesn't play anything like the original, that isn't an excuse. They already changed most of the gameplay, so not adding stuff to "be like the original" is a very weak excuse.

It wasn't bad, but it was still goat shite compared today's standard of FPSes.

And come on, do you real think it deserved best pc game? my ass. Rome total war should've won that award instead - it's multifolds better than id's shooter.

No i don't think its the best FPS this year but its not the worst by a long shot...its still one of the best games to come out this year though. But still Doom3 was supposed to be a run and gun FPS like Painkiller was.

If any FPS should of won that award now it should of gone to FarCry.

I prefer DoW to RTW tbh. It was just way to short to be considered one of the best RTS games (DoW that is)
