I dont think the US will invade another country until Iraq is settled and the troops are pulled out atleast. The US imo, doesnt have the man-power, support or money to go through with another full scale invasion. I can imagine a war on Korea or Iran to be very politically dangerous ground, especially Iran. N. Korea is not in the right place or is weak enough for the US to succeed. That really would be another vietnam.

I think when the US attacks Iran we can expect more terrorist attacks on the US, maybe on the White House or a nuclear power plant. But Iran is an important source of muslim fundamentalism wich must be dealt with. But it will be a second Iraq, with terrorist attacks causing chaos.

And if they attack North Korea it will start a long war with many casualties and eventually the use of nuclear weapons. But if Kim Jong Il can do what he wants he can attempt to invade South Korea.

edit:I just realized a huge military power lies nextm to NK: China. So if NK becomes really dangerous, China can decide too deal with it too.

Yeah I agree. I think secretly the Bush administration is very very wary of N. Korea and not nearly as confident as it makes out because they're not entirely sure what weapons they do or do not have.

North Korea for me. Sure, Iran has said that they are making nukes that will destroy the U.S. (along with a lot of others I guess) but I thought they were quite friendly with the States (if a non-western country can be...), but NK seems a lot more unstable & more hostile. But I don't know what kind of talks these countries have with each other. Behind the scenes so to speak.

Iraq was attacked instead of North Korea and Iran because it DIDN'T have WMDs, and thus there was no risk of them being used.

The one good thing about nukes is that if two countries have got them, they won't be used. Too stupid. You nuke a country, it just nukes you back.

Although risky, America could invade either because their plans with nuclear development mean they could become a threat to Americas lead in the arms race. But even if they do I doubt either government would launch a nuke at the US. a) Because the US could just wipe the country out with several nukes back at them and b) because they would have a whole lot of other countries suddenly invading them.

America is unlikely ever to state WMDs again. If they said "Iran had WMDs we must invade" no one would listen, even if they DID have them. They need a good excuse.
