I just finished this concept design for v4 of my website.
I realised the old one looked very amateurish and I needed to spice it up a bit.
The menu with the links is going to go at the very bottom of the big panel.
Now this would be my first design that I didnt finish in 1 day, hopefully that would mean a better site overall.
Comments and suggestions are welcome :)

Good start, but everything is too large and messy. When making website layouts try to stay away from layer styles and filters as much as possible. When I get back from school I will see if I can get some of my friends work to show you what you should be aiming for. Good luck and dont give up :)

What I can tell you is that I haven't used one filter exept for the lighting effect to get the soft look on the glass banner.
The rest I manually airbrushed.
And this filter crap is really pissing me off.
I don't think you can get certain effects without using filters. They are in photoshop to be used.

I never use filters, too easy to do stuff with :P
I just use layer styles.

Then you can't do some of the cool background effects.

People always bitch about how you do stuff, whats important is how it looks when its done. With bonus points if other people havent done it before.
