I'm glad not everyone is into all the halo2 vs halflife2 arguments.

Halo 2 fanboys think their game is going to be "teh best" even though (by the look of the video I saw in Dick Smith's) it looks to be quite an average shooter. The concept is sound (you know, a large battle for the survival of earth, only been done .... 10000 times before right ?), the graphics look okay, and the gameplay looks interesting (2 guns at a time, wow, nice concept, but not something to wet your pants about, eh ?) but the fact is that it has been OVERHYPED !.

Half Life 2 has physics in the gameplay, which is unusual, but by all reports, it works. It has brilliant graphics (better the H2's by far), good soundtrack (again from the reviewers) and best of all, a brilliant story (again, many reviewers commented on this). Add to the power of mods, and well .... you have a winner !

That's basically it, Halo fanboys (or XBox fanboys, yes, we do have some here) can't take the fact that their XBox (i.e, retarded PC in a box) can't out do Half-Life 2 on a brilliant PC in a much larger box, maybe even a rectangle .... :)

I never said Halo was a BAD game, only that it was overhyped (IMO), and I described to the topic creator why the argument had started. Nothing to go on a verbal tangent off, surely .... ?

All games are hyped, that's what happens when you get fans together. You can't defend your game but say another game is this and that. They're just games. I think there is too much drama surrounding games. Do you think Valve/ID/Bungie really care if people argue over which game is better? Hell yes. They love having their games debated over and pitted against one another. I doubt ID cares if HL2 is more popular in one part of the gaming community than Doom 3, because they know it's all just advertising.

Let's all just get along, like the title suggests. They're just video games, come on guys... :angel:

I'm a HL2 fanboy :) To me it looks like the coolest thing since grapefruit smoothies.

Regarding Halo 2, it looks like a really damn cool game, but I don't have an Xbox, and I don't intend to get one. I wasn't a big fan of the original game, but it was a pretty cool game worthy of some merit. I'll probably check out H2 if it ever comes to PC.

If people want to think one game is going to 'out-do' the other, they're welcome to, but the fact of the matter is it really doesn't matter. The games aren't overhyped, your opinions are :P

I wish I had an XBOX to play Halo 2. Sounds really exciting and I like the looks of the new weapons. Dont know if it is worth dropping 100$ on one for it though. Not to count the 50$ for the game itself.

Personaly I will probably like HL2 alot more, however that is just personal preference. I would never say that HL2 is better than HALO 2 overall.

As human beings we are a competitive species, it sucks alot of the time. :(
