i don't think a TNT or Geforce256 (geforce 1) will have the power to render it, although valve claims it should run but.... you'd be very dissapointed.

I think the minimum is a geforce2Ti, geforce2GTS or a Geforce4MX440. That sounds more reasonable to me.

why dont you go with ATI. gabe recommended the Ati radeon 9800 pro as the best card to play hl2

Get ATI, its the card to own...when you want speed + FSAA + AF + good price ...if not...buy a geforce

i have the gforce 4 ti 4600 ultra, 3.2ghz p4, 5.1 surround, 19inch screen 3day old pc, so i should be fine for a couple of yrs. gonna update graphics soon though.
