They made hl2 singleplayer fun, i'm sure it'll be fun with hl2

Umm... Well, there will be no official coop. You're going to have to wait for Sven Coop 2, a mod.

There won't be out-of-the-box co-op, just co-operative gameplay added by mod teams at a later date, namely Sven Co-op. Even then we don't know what they'll end up doing to the HL2 campaign to make it MP viable.

Never played Sven co-op before so I'm very much looking foward to giving it a shot.
Imagine 3-4 or more GOOD mods over the coming months....this wait will surely be worth it.

Im not sure if they'll make Hl2 Single player a co-op, atleast not at first. i think the sven co-op team will just be making the sp maps multiplayer dm arena's and objective gameplay rather than playing through the game.
I think more than 1 person with the Ai following you around with their eyes and stuff would just screw it up. Which gordon would Alyx speak to, there being 2 or more in the map?... confusing.

Sven was supposed to be but from what he was saying (hopefully he'll pop in himself) there's nothing done about it at the moment. They have no SDK for one thing.

A lot was going on last July (http://www.svencoop.com/archive/archive20.htm), but unfortunately a lot seems to have changed since then. I'd still really like to do it, but if we do, it looks as if it'll be on a different level from what we had undestood. As you mentioned, we don't even have the SDK yet.

Pity really. Way too many people seem to think the SC team will have a fully functional co-operative version of HL2 available within days of HL2's release.
Heh... brings back old memories that archive. Whatever happened to SC becoming a Steam mod anyway?

Yeah. I somehow managed to miss playing co-op on HL1. Funnily enough i decided with HL2 I was definately going to rectify that.
Hopefully they just have have their hands full with HL2, steam and that pesky court thing.

We've been wondering the same thing. It was supposed to be happening a few times, then it didn't. Presumably it's all off now, and we're being listed on the Third Party Games page instead (same for Natural Selection, who I assume were offered the same deal).

Go play Sven Coop for Half-life 1. its a blast. I recently picked it up, made a thread about it in the other general gaming forum.
