Indeed. I do so love Isis. Aaron Turner is probably one of the most talented singer/songwriters I've had the pleasure of submitting my ears to. Check out the Oceanic album if you haven't already. If you like Tides, you may also like a band called Latitudes. Real heavy, crushing stuff. Beautiful.

Well I guess you get it or you don't. It's not like musical taste across people can even be accounted for in any objective way. I personally think BoC is so beautiful / perfect because the way the music makes me feel (all warm and lo-fi and human yet surreal and detached, eerie in a comfortable dreamlike fashion) is something I enjoy and can't get anywhere else, at least not through listening to music. Aphex Twin occupies another individual facet of pure musical feeling.

You should try listening to Amon Tobin, he's so clearly a master that it's a little easier to appreciate the incredibly precise specificity of his sound.

I love how each game has it's own distinct sound. HL1 had this really old, sci-fi sound. HL2 was more electronic and energized. EP1 had this sense of "Oh shit gtfo". EP2 was all **** YEAH ROCK ON. EP3 will probably have guest star Tiny Tim.

EP3 soundtrack is confirmed to be an accapella band of four Swedish dwarves covering the entire back catalogue of Brain Eno.
