Acid is probably the most badass genre to have ever existed, if not because of the actual music then because of the environment it's suited to.

Acid House - Bunch of people standing around in a dark blacklit room moving around while dropping acid and tripping to these little bleeps and squelches.

Acid - Bunch of people dancing around in a dark blacklit room, perhaps with some strobe lights, tweaking on ecstasy to bass and pulses.

Hard Acid - Bunch of violent people thrashing about some spastic color-fest of a room while on some seriously hard drugs. Broken furniture, bloody noses, and the prevalent odor of sweat.

It's just so badass. I love it. This is rave music by definition. Not that ****ing carbon-copy crap that passes for it nowadays.
