Circular Impression by the Extras (I had forgotten about this song ..still funny)

I've got a rubber in my wallet.
One of those little whatchamacallit's.
I'm savin' it for that special day.
When the right girl comes my way.

It leaves a circular impression
From all those years of compression.
I've had it since I turned thirteen.
I got it in a vend'n machine.

[Chorus]
Circ circ circular impression!
Leading to a state of depression!
In my walla walla walla walla wallet!
I can't wait to install it!

No! I can't wait!

It's in a little tinfoil packet.
Sometimes I'm tempted to unwrap it.
It's got a reinforced border.
I hope it's still in working order.

"Be Prepared" they said in Boy Scouts.
I'm waiting for a chance to try it out.
I want to try this contraceptive.
But all the girls are unreceptive.

[Chorus]

I've got a French safe in my pocket.
It'll be the nose-cone on my rocket.
It comes direct from Paris, France.
Can't wait to take it from my pants.
Huhuh!

Indeed. The single bit where a warped voice suddenly cries out "Get off of me!" gives me goosebumps every time.

Squarepusher sounds like he's finally starting to have fun again. After three albums of distorted, moody destruction dragging his audience through fields of monochrome shit and grime, it's like he's made a 180 degree turn into bright, pastelle funkiness. That's not to say he's lost his touch for sombre melody and mad beat****ery. Such is still the powerhouse driving his music amidst the live drums and bass guitars.. But it's adopted a softer edge. Similar to Trent Reznor recently, a rediscovered Pop sensibility has meandered onto the scene to **** his muse and consequently relieve some of those bad vibes. It's early Squarepusher condensed and yet polished with more of his ever-recurring, forward-thinking tricks. Retro enough to disappoint some fans, but I'll be damned if it isn't fun.

:O

Just be prepared for some very strange music, especially from the album "Chiastic Slide" onward. It can take getting used to. Melodies and beats interchanging, patterns shifting, weaving in and out of warped distortion. I'd be lying if I said I didn't encounter tracks that were absolutely grating on my nerves. But they're still capable of a moving tune, and at the very least they're always interesting. No BoC though. They are at the complete opposite end of the scale. I wish that I could get a glimpse into their heads, just to figure out how they make such sounds.

Also, props for "The Exploding Psychology". Which 'Pusher albums did you get?

Only one of those I don't have is Selection Sixteen. Go Plastic probably the favorite due to its sheer madness, but Ultravisitor has a lot more depth. If you want some jazz-fusion thrown in, Hard Normal Daddy is by far the most tuneful.

Ultravisitor is, indeed, one hell of a track, Ennui. First I heard, and I didn't listen to the album for a good solid few hours because I was just listening to that one song. I'm torn between Ultavisitor and Go Plastic as my favourites. Go Plastic is just pure awesome for I Wish You Could Talk alone.
