The Simpsons used to be better than Futurama, but it's been absolute rubbish for years now. Family Guy was always brilliant, consistently more amusing than Futurama, so I'd give it first place. Supposing that were an option.

I find it funny that Futurama appeared just around the time Simpsons started to get bad. :D

Futurama: Simply because simpsons are getting boring now ;(, plus they are no match for futurama's characters :)

Yeah, the Simpsons is good for when you are eating but beyond that I dont watch it at all anymore. But, even though I've seen them all several times, I still love watching Futurama.

I find it funny that Futurama appeared just around the time Simpsons started to get bad. :D

Maybe because Matt Groening then fully dedicated himself to Futurama.

Futurama for me too.

Just saw the episode of 'the way to a girl's bed is through her parents, have sex with them and you're in!'

Zapp rocks!

Futurama, however if Futurama had come out around the time I first started watching the Simpsons though the story would be different.

Futurama... that show had so many more years in it!

As for Simpsons, love it, I even like the new ones, but man alive do they really have to repeat it so much? I hardly even get to see the new ones 'cos you never know when they're gonna be shown.

PS: buy Futurama Box Sets on DVD... worth the admission price for the comentaries alone!

The Simpsons lost its goodness a while ago...

But it is still better, because I don't bother watching the new episodes. There are like 200 (literally) great episodes of The Simpsons.

Futurama is great, though. :D

Simpsons is the most poular cartoon of all-time (even if the quality is slipping)
Futurama has more of a cult following due to it's early cancellation.

I would have to go with Futurama, because not only does it have a solid cast of central characters (as well as zany comedy), the sci-fi situations and the sense of wonder that can come from this show is the reason I continue to watch it. This could have literally gone on just as long as the Simpsons, since the possibilities were almost endless.

I think the Simpson has more memorable moments.
Homer's "d'oh" remarks are a classic.

D'oh will live into the ages. When something becomes a cliche like that but still retains much of it's original charm (exception for new seasons), you know it's destined for greatness.

But what does it even mean?

Futurama. Simpsons is so UNFUNNY by comparison. Got bored after 2.5 seasons. Plus, I love science fiction which Simpsons clearly isn't ;)

I vote Simpsons because the whole heads-in-jars thing freaks me out in Futurama. :|

Futurama just grows on you. I thought it was terrible at first, but now it might be my favorite show. I just love the characters, especially Fry and Bender.

They should try to breath some new life into the Simpson’s. Get the Movie out of the way for one, then say, "OK we're canning the show in a X years, lets let the family grow up in that time so we finally have some different situations to write about."

15 or whatever years and they've made about three permanent changes. I know they like to make jokes about how everything goes back to normal ready for next week's episode but come on, even TV Guide is having a hard time summing up each episode without repeating themselves. "This week the Simpson’s get a Horse... but something different happens" "This week The Simpson’s help in a problematic Wedding Ceremony... But something different happens... honest"

Futurama has been consistently good, but the Simpsons had some absolutely hilarious moments back when it was still quality. It's a case of Futurama maintaining a constant level of goodness, while the Simpsons spikes higher in the first half of the seasons then degrades quickly after that.

Saying that, I just like Futurama more anyway... if only for Bender.

In futurama the general quality of a random episode is better, but you do get some good simpsons episodes.

Voted Futurama.

futurama is just plain funnier, in both the quality and volume of the jokes. simpsons was an institution sure, but it's way past it's prime.. i mean after the 50th season or so.. it's getting a little old.

There was a joke on one Simpsons, it was the final for like the 7th season I think, and as the episode finished it zoomed out of the picture to a screen in an editing room with a guy playing it, and Homer comes up behind him and says "that's gonna be the last season, right?", and he nods.

It would have been funny if it were true...

I like Futurama better just because I found it funnier then the Simpsons. At the same time I found Family Guy funnier then both though.

I used to like Simpsons better, but I've grown rather fond of Futurama. So I voted Futurama.

You know, I just recently watched two amazing episodes of Futurama. The Luck of the Fryrish (http://www.gotfuturama.com/cgi-bin/EpisodeReview.cgi?action=show&Season=3&Episode=04), and Jurassic Bark (http://www.gotfuturama.com/cgi-bin/EpisodeReview.cgi?action=show&Season=4&Episode=07).

These two episodes may not be the funniest, but they are surely two of the most memorable episodes for me. The character development and storyline of these two episodes are great, and quite emotional as well. The ending of Jurassic Bark made me feel like crying(though i didn't), and the ending of Luck of the Fryrish was heart touching and quite sad as well.

There's rarely ever any shows out there that make me feel emotional, and as luck would have it, this 'comedy' was so well done in these two episodes that it indeed instilled in me the emotion of sadness.

I really don't know what it was about Jurassic Bark, but I was on the verge of tears for those last 30 seconds. And recounting it afterwards put me into this weird pensive and depressed mood. When it came on again recently, I had to change the channel, which was hard because it is an utterly masterful episode.

Because here fry is... so happy from his thoughts that his dog had a long and fulfilling life after fry left. But in reality, his dog had a lonely life, waiting for fry every second, of every day, in the same spot until he became old, crippled and died of old age and lonliness. That... that is very sad indeed.
