Now that we know the RC definately went to VU, theres a few things.

My theory is, that on the 22nd, the game will in fact, go gold. I have a feeling VU and VALVe have been working together for a while now, and this was the final RC. I believe this is the last few checks and we should see gold on the 22nd. Also, tonite could be the 2nd to last preload, and, exactly a week from now could be the last preload - the 22nd.

Anyone else support this?

Not to flame you are anything.. But errmmm.. The fact that you are predicting/assuming/thinking/guessing that it would eventually perhaps go gold next week is not based on any information except from what you've seen.. It is speculation, and we all seem to eat and digest it as if it were pie..

Man, in this case I really wish I had a crystal ball for most of the users out here to tell them if they really are going to get pretty girlfriends, or if they're really going to get that Audi they dreamt off, and of course never forget to mention them what date HL2 comes out.. I believe it has been the most discussed subject ever, and we should really find something else to steer away our minds from the release date.. The more we discern ourselves from an eventual release date, the more it will come as an eventual surprise..

I think it will happen like so...

Tomorrow (Friday) = Preload (Maps)
Early next week = Gold announcement
Fri 24th = End of CS:Source beta/final preload
30th Sept = HL2 released to Steam users/Final load (Engine etc)
Early Nov = Arrives in shops

Yes it is just speculation, but now is the time to do it.

Now my hype for hl2 is back....i love the feeling. On the 21st ima buy SW:Battlefront and that should hold me over till hl2 is released. Then after ive been playing HL2 for awhile EQ2 should be out and ill be even happier.
