in hl1 i never beat it either. this might be the wrong forum to post in so lemme know. im on "Blast Pit" and i got past the huge monster thing-a-ma-jigger.then i go down the big ladder and theres a scientist down there. then theres a big room where these things spin around the sides of the room. i guess i restored the energy to full power or something now i dont know what to do.

Activate the oxygen now (go back to the blast pit and look around for a 2nd path, thats leads to where you turn the oxygen on, i think its down below)

You have to turn some huge fan on, fly up into some vents and then get to press buttons which turn Fuel and Oxygen on, then go back to the main control room, and kaboom!!!

i heard about the fan...is that the thing that all the metal rods connect to and turn on the power? the thing that the scientist is hiding on?

Yes, and there are two buttons to press to turn it on.

yeah i pressed the buttons to turn on the power....now do i go somewhere else to find the fan?

Yeah, it's pretty much linear so it's very easy to find it by just going somewhere you haven't been before, so to speak.

Go back down before the electricity up there kills you... (and the scientist :D)... back past the houndeyes, and out somewhere else... and now u can turn on a huge fan in a room, i cant remember how to get there, i think it's back through a different pasage coming from the room with the plant tentacle creatures.
