Did anybody else hear about the Stalker Beta that is supposed to start soon? Gamespy reported that THQ's German site confirmed a 5,000 person open multiplayer beta test. I'm excited :smoking:

I'd imagine there will be some preferential treatment towards regular stalker forumites, especially as they have drawn a lot of ideas from the fanbase (as I understand it).

and I think it is the first 5,000 people to sign up, but I'm not entirely sure since the story was rather sketchy. And Ghost, where did you find the date?

The THQ Germany website says that the beta is scheduled to begin 1st quater of 2005

it was on a recent video of gameplay, in the background you hear one of the GSC team saying that an internal beta is starting this month and that a public one should be in november, but i guess this is subjet to change

If it's the first 5000 people to sign up then all the slots will be taken within 10 minutes.

I couldnt even get Tribes:Vengeance to install. Tryed the block stuff and redownloading it 3 times.
