Removing third party games

I was wondering how to remove third party games from steam? Since the steampowered forums are down i'm posting here. (couldnt find anything using google either)

Just delete directories? I cant do it from the steam drop down menus :(

Just quit Steam, and delete the directories.

Restart Steam, and voila, third party game is gone.

delete them from your half-life folder. I hope you know the right folders to delete. ;)

If i delete the folders, the games wont show up in the games menu anymore? I dont like my pc to be trashy with pieces of old games being all over my hard disc

The third party mod won't show up on the games list if you have deleted the whole mod folder, i just tried it and it worked fine.
I'm going to add information on how to uninstall mods from Steam to the third party mod FAQ now :)
