im working on a series of explosions atm..
This is my first try:

Its not that crisp.. but what the heck i didnt draw for a long time :p

This is a cannon ... i was inspired after i saw the short movie
" Cannon Fodder " by Katsuhiro Otomo :

I really like the style.
I'm no good at judging art so it may be pure crap, but I like it. ;)

Very very nice paintings. You've seen Memories, then? Canon fodder's ok, it's very sketchy, I much preferred Magnetic Rose.

Yeah I like it, not being "crisp" seems to really add to the effect.

with the explosion up the top, you should try drawing chunks of metal/debri at the start of each smoke trail or flame spurt
that would make it look like something is shooting out of it rather then the "triangle of smoke" it looks like now

good work though!

Gouache : Magenta, Cyan, Yellow, Black, White + brush :farmer:
