I remember reading somewhere that Half-Life: Source would be included in the basic Half-Life 2 game not just CE but I may be wrong.

VALVe already said they'll sell the sperate ports at a budget price.
I'd imagine it'd be included in the CE as well

How much is the CE? $60? $65?

Killing2Live

I hope Valve will give out some info the CE before the game comes out, like epic did with ut2k4.

I hope the CE just has a shirt or something, I would like to have HL:S & DoD:S but i dont really want to shell out $80.

Alas that is the way of the world though ;)

I was hoping that all the Source port stuff would be available to all HL2 owners, because they would make retail sequals later on, it would also bring the huge customizing communities over, still a chance of that happening, i was guessing the "extra playable" content would be old beta stuff that the fans would wanna see lol.

source conversions will only be available to CE owners for free, HL2 regular owners will need to pay budget prices. CE is the way to go :D

But doesn't the Collector's Edition cost more to compensate for the Source conversions?

I guess it is the best in the long run. Here's hoping there's much replayability.

We don't know that yet, since Valve haven't given out any new information. I suspect they wan't to keep it as a surprise.

Then why should we buy or pre-order for that matter the CE if we don't know whats in it :P

That's exactly why I think CS and HL Source will be available to all HL2 owners.

The CE is really overpriced and it really makes me wonder why people are willing to pay $75+ for it when they don't even know what it will include.

It really makes me wonder how people can say it's overpriced when they don't even know what it will include.

Well since HL Source and Counter Strike Source comes with the regular retail version of HL2 I dont really care to own the CE. I never really got into TF so a source port or TF2 won't likely interest me.

We'll see about DoD:S though. i'm a fan but im not sure if its worth an extra 30 bucks.

I will so laugh if the reason its 90$ is because it just comes with an extra poster and a tin case.

I don't know what 59 lbs in USDollars is...

Is that accurate after the Sierra incident? I thought I heard there wa sonly 3 version now. Regular, CE, and STEAM.

I thought I read they decided to not have separate single-player and Multiplayer versions.

Also, that link says that multiplayer will be managed by STEAM. Does that mean that I will need steam to play a LAN game? How about if a friend and I want to do a direct IP-to-IP game, like HL1?

I'm assuming they mean if you want to join a public server, which I never do. I play LAN nearly exclusively.
