That's definitly Unreal 3.
Before you all go crazy and say "wow that's way better than Doom3 or HL2."
It's becouse it is. It's going to be the next generation. :p

It's becouse it is. It's going to be the next generation
exactly.
it's already been stated that the first game to be release on the unreal 3 engine won't be until late 2005 at the very earliest, with sometime in 2006 to be more likely.

if it's not better than doom 3 by that time, then that's just stupid.

That's amazing.

That first picture immediatly made me think, "Who photoshoped that UE3 monster onto a picture of a road?"

Then I shit my pants.

Of course it's amazing, it's a long way off. Supposedly DX9 cards will be the minimum to even run the game. I also highly doubt that it will make a release by 2006, there probably won't be a large enough userbase with machines good enough to run it to warrant releasing the product. Saying that the game looks better than any of the next generation stuff like Half-Life 2 or Doom 3 is like saying that Doom 3 looks better than Half-Life in 1998. UE3 is the next next generation.

Thats Unreal3 engine, they showed it at this years e3 but however most of those screenies are new and its looking good

Wow. The faded images provided the illusion of the screens actually being real with just some photoshopped enemy. On closer inspection, I was pleasently surprised to see that these were from a game engine.

It's like looking through a portal into the future.

Man, this is really ****ed up, look at that bloody engine, and we thaugt that HL2 was going to be a next gen Engine, it dosen't compare to that, no way, I mean the grapichs are Ok but not THAT cool, if they had just relased it earlyer, I'm pissed off.

brink's
04-08-2004, 08:37 AM
Unreal 3 and it won't be out for a least 2 years, thats why HL2 looks so crappy compared to it. Kinda like HL2 looking better the deux ex.

I imagine the graphics jump will be like from Quake 3 to Doom 3. A quantum jump if you will, but there will be some limitations. I am curious to see what will limit the Unreal 3 engine. Even 3 years later I doubt computers will be powerful enough to to make a game that has state of the art graphics, physics, lighting, shadows and a storyline.

It may not be a good idea to post links to pics of a magazine.

In other news: Yeah, I wish they'd focus on developing consumer VR technology.
The only decent VR set-ups are still extremely pricey and out of reach of the average person. And i've never heard of anything but 3rd party ports of games being made for them.

You know I've never played Unreal, but I think this'll convince me to start.

Just to let you know a quantum jump is very very small. Not even a hop really. It's kind of like they tried to hop, but then realized they were cemented to the ground. That small.

Old news there are videos of the Unreal 3.0 engine.

No one knows if those screens are for the new game. They said that it was a demo for the engine.

Well here's one of the pics I got from somebody hear but I won't say who shh Very nice quality pic from that mag :D

But you wanna know something that AMAZES me? That all those what seems like 50 billion poly creatures are being played by people... They look so damn realistic it's hard to believe...

My god animation is going to get tough! With humanoid type creatures the brain can see the little things wrong with animations... I hope they get Fred Nillson to do it :D He's the Lead Animator for Doom3 and worked on Shrek and such... He's my animation demi-god......
