My school art project

So, for my 6 week summer holiday i have to fill up a sketchbook (50 pages). I had the choice of either egyptian, chinese or african, so i chose chinese :p. Heres my first (rushed in an hour) page of it that i drew yestarday :). Ill add more when i've done them later if i can be bothered.

NOTE: crits are welcome but wont be followed, im not pleased with this myself, and can see where i've gone wrong, but since ive got another 49pgs to fill up, im not particularly bothered (hence the rushing) ;).

I love it...but I have to say the neck does looks as you say "rushed" kind of like you wanted to fill the space. If i were you I would probably have done it a bit thinner.

yo man, work on it more :D it'll get better. even out your value ranges for example... not as big a contrast between one value to the next, and do some cross shading, like... i dunno, i'll draw you some stuff and send it, showing what i mean. late

hey that's my avatar :O

brilliant skills though. if you're looking for inspiration, just look up Sun Tzu. looking at ancient chinese armies might give you some great material to draw. chariots, armour, soldiers, large scale battles etc. i'm sure there are loads of sites with ancient chinese battle armour that you can draw in intricate detail.

anyway, keep updating, this stuff is cool :)

just to tell you all, i AM still working, and i WILL post more updates, i've just not been in the mood the past few days to work much. its been pretty hot and the pics are getting harder each time as i put more effort in and use more complex scenes to draw (that and the fact that ive got competition now in the form of my friend whos decided he isnt going to drop art after all :|).more pics hopefully coming tommorrow or the day after :)

some of them are a bit lobsided, but on them, the paint or whatever i used was more important than getting the actual proportions perfect so the quality of that suffered a bit

EDIT: i just WISH i could do digital art, even if im on photoshop i just treat it as if it was paint, and cant do a thing on it :p
