well it looks like steam got attacked by WON lovers again...i tried entering the homepage and it didnt work...a few mins later y entered and it worked and the forums said this "The Steam Users Forum is down as we ride out a external network problem (a Denial of Service attack). Thanks for your patience -- we'll be back up soon."

some dude IMed me trying to get me to play CS the other day. I was surprised when I saw it was a 1.5 server, so I asked him what the deal was, and appearently he hadn't heard of STEAM, or CS 1.6

You can't really log into steam but you can still play everygame on your games list. Just go into offline mode and join the servers from your favorites. Yes, you have to have the server on your favorites are add it there to play the game offline.

like blah³ said, how are you so sure its the "militant extremist 1.5 lovers" behind it? Why would you want them to shut WON down anyway? Some people simply prefer to play 1.5 over 1.6 for various reasons. Just because you're not one of them doesn't mean you're above them.

How is holding on to 1.5 sad? A lot of people have much more fun without the shield and new guns and all of that. And no I don't have dialup or a crappy computer. Just because some people don't upgrade to 1.6 doesn't mean it's because their computer isn't actually capable of playing on it.

umop, I think that the 1.5 bashers were simply saying that ppl who want to play 1.5 are in the monority. I'm sure that some CS "purists" like the AWP quick switch, no shield etc but most people want to keep up with the times and not get left behind. Myself included. Each to their own though, of course.
