I'm starting to draw fruit because I can't draw people worth a crap and someone recommended this. Let me know what you think. I'll post more as I do them. Oh and I didn't really have a light color for the shadow so that's why it's kind of bluish, hehe.

its very stylish, I like it. insert general 'far better than I dould do' response here.

its a cool sketch-thingy though. although I see some places where its not anatomically correct

Tim - I would like to suggest you shade the dark side of the apple with green and a little blue. You will be amazed at how it looks. Also, make the shadow the opposide color of whatever the light source is.

I like it, it has good shadding and nice colour, but the angle looks slightly off somehow. Its probably a case of trying to draw what you see being conteracted by your brain telling you what an apple looks like.

Although it could just be the shadow at the bottom.

I did a photoshop representation of what I was aiming for.

Also, notice how i put some green into your shadow - it helps to differentiate between the apple and the surface it's on. Just a color theory trick.

EDIT: Oh, and I put superhighlights on it, just because it's a nice effect. Feel free to exaggerate in art.

Yeah the light was pretty yellow so the shadow was bluish in color. I'll try adding more colors to the dark areas to my next piece, which will be an orange. It's been a while since I've drawn anything, so hopefully I will be able to re-teach myself how to draw. I also am going to try drawing some plants, i've always been pretty good at that.

Well if the light was yellow, your shadow would be violet.

A bit of the red apple would actually reflect onto the white table too, creating a very slight pinkishness around where the apple touches the table. It's looking good anyways though, since that sort of thing borders on unnoticable unless the light is strong.

The shadow looks to be the right opacity to me too. Shadows are usually only really dark directly underneath something, and then get lighter as you move away. So you could darkrn up the area directly uder the apple a bit, but leave the rest as-is.

Right you are about that apple reflecting. I haven't done any artwork in the while, and my brain has been in other places - forgot about that.
