Half-Life Fan Fiction

Hey everybody. I've been reading these forums for about a year now, but finally divied up an email address to register to get some opinions.

First off, you are all great. I stop by every other day or so to see what the latest thoughts and interviews about hl2 are... OK, now to the good stuff.

I've been writing some hl2 fan fiction, and I'd like your thoughts on where it should lead.

So far, I've written up character plots for some of the main characters. I'd like popular opinion on the interaction between these characters.

Should Alyx and Gordon have love interst? How about the G-Man. In one short story I've written, Alyx finds herself interested in G-Man, but afraid he may have headcrabs. The climax of the story is a huge fight through City 17 between G-Man and Gordon (how crazy will it be if it turns out they are the same people? No worries, I've written an ending for that scenario!)

I've written up Barney as comedic relief. I have him characterized as a sidekick. Think Cosmo Kramer! With a gun!

I'm going to start posting the stories, but I really want to insert some of the creative juices of the best halflife forums on the internet. I'll be crediting any ideas on the site!

Just one thing: I never like it when people turn Barney Calhoun into a sidekick with lots of humour. I like to think of him as the guy in control of things, but it may just be me.

In one adventure I've scripted out. Barney joins up with Luigi from Mario Bros., and they try to take on their own adventure, only to learn that they best serve mankind as sidekicks, and not as headliners.

gebfeda, we have a dedicated fan fiction forum. I'd recommend asking for input and ideas there as well... you'll probably get more bites as that's where the creative types tend to congregate. ;)

What if Alyx actually has an affair with Dr.Kleiner, Breen,anbd the G-Man and in the end all of them and Gordon get in on a big orgy while Eli saves the world from impending doom and the vortiguant goes on vacation

#1. I think that would compromise the whole thing. The G-Man is apart, aloof, someone else entirely, someone known only to Gordon.

#2. While I think that Gordon most certainly finds Alyx attractive, he is old enough to be her father, and I doubt he looks at her in that way.

Barney is not a sidekick. He is a trusted old friend of Gordon's, them having been through alot of the same stuff.

Gordon Freeman is 27. It't written on beginig of HL1.
In HL1 he can be her father, but in HL2 they are the same age category, because Gordon made "slow-time-warp", so he isn't older than in HL1.

You're not alone. I don't like movies, where is one sidekick, and all others are seriuos (like JarJar in StarWars, Joxer in Xena,...). Everybody should be funny, or nobody.
