Does anyone know what site in the Unreal Tournament community would be the closest equivalent to HL2.net (in terms of size and in terms of maturity/forum quality)? I'm interested in getting involved on that side of the gaming spectrum as well.

You've got a lifetime contract with us. You have to stay here. We've told you about this before. You're here for life or we'll send Onions round to sort you out.

WTF you laughing for? I'm serious!!!!!

I don't go to UT sites all that much but I think www.beyondunreal.com would be the closest thing to HL2.net.

Just don't go abandoning us though. :(

Maybe we should jump him and then tie him up? :P

I'm touched that you guys don't want me to leave, and, trust me, I won't be (especially with a response like that :)). I'm just interested in meeting new people and seeing how other communities work, because of my interest in the Unreal mod scene, my desire to see how HL2.net compares to other sites, and in hopes of eventually perhaps encountering and, hopefully, learning from, the people behind such mods as Red Orchestra and Deathball. Games, and the industry that produces them, are hardly one-sided; I merely am interested in seeing some of the other sides.

Thanks again guys :)

hmmm...I've also been watching the Unreal mod scene for a while, but I usually use www.planetunreal.com or www.levels4you.com for general stuff.

He wont/can't leave, he signed his soul to us. Why do you think those who do leave "mysteriously dissapear" shortly after? :)

A friend of mine once worked for this site. One day, he told me he was going to leave. A few days later I received a phone call: "I think they've found me... they're in the walls! Oh my god! They're here! NNOOARRGGH--"

It was officially declared as suicide, though I doubt that anyone can shove a crowbar that far up their... hmm.

Your friend never existed, infact, we're so good at covering our tracks, i bet you nobody ever heard of this friend of yours who worked on this site, and if they did. Give it a week and nobody will remember them neither  ;)

Hmmm, I am proberly following the Unreal Scene at more than Half Life 2 because really.... there is nothing to show in the Half Life 2 mod community because no one has the SDK etc...

I use these sites for news and forums:

http://www.beyondunreal.com/
http://www.unrealtournament2004.co.uk/
http://www.unrealops.com/
http://www.unrealplayground.com/
http://sv3.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/unr_main.php
http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=249 (The Atari forums are bigger than hl2.net)

ow and here is just a page full of links:

Atari has been around in one form or another since almost the beginning. So I would bloody well expect it to be bigger than HL2.net :p

I go to the Atari forums (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=214). It's nice, because the developers are active members and chat/offer assistance. It's a lot of fun.
